Terms and conditions
Article 14 of the Welfare of Animals (Transport) Order 1997 requires that we provide the information requested below.
You will be liable to cover the cost of repair for any damage caused by your horse. You will have the opportunity to check the horse transport vehicle before a journey and agree any damage, as arguments will not be entered into upon return. Any contents are entirely your responsibility.
We advise you to have the necessary insurance that covers your horse for transportation. We strongly suggest you to place travel boots, tail bandages and a poll guard on your horse for travel.
The drivers take all reasonable precautions; however, in the event of an accident please note that you are personally liable for your horse in the event of injury or damage sustained to or by your horse.
Should it not be possible to load your horse, the call-out fee and mileage already travelled will still be charged as well as time taken attempting to load your horse.
Should your horse be very unsettled in the trailer, we reserve the right to refuse to transport the horse and a call-out fee and an account of mileage already travelled will still be chargeable.
Liability is not accepted for loss of entry fees or any other related expenses in the event of delayed or cancelled journeys for any reason.
Children under 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times and in particular at the time of loading / unloading.
It is company policy not to feed hay to horses in transit, unless the owner specifically requests this. On longer journeys regular rest stops are made, where horses will be offered water and hay (if appropriate).
Please note that you are personally liable for your horse during transport. Please ensure your horse has a passport, and if possible, give a copy to the transporters.
Prices quoted are based on an approximate estimation of distance to be travelled, but the price is a firm quote for the job unless circumstances dictate we have to take a longer route. Please note that the mileage is calculated based on a round trip from our base in Fen Drayton, Cambridge to your destination and then back to our base in Fen Drayton.
We can carry a limited amount of tack or rugs along with your horse, but the insurance for these items is your responsibility.
We ask that you pay a deposit when booking the transport. The deposit will usually amount to 50% of the total cost. This is comprised of the call-out fee and the first leg of your journey. Remaining fees are due at the time of transport. Payment can be made by cheque (with banker's card up to the limit of the card) or by cash.
NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED.
All bookings must be confirmed by phone 24 hours before travel.
